Structural Characteristics and Installation Advantages: The lug-type metal hard-seal butterfly valve combines the portability of a wafer butterfly valve with the robustness of a flange butterfly valve. Its valve body body has cast lug holes with internal threads, and bolts are screwed into the valve body from both sides of the pipeline flange. This unique connection method gives it excellent dead-end service capability: when downstream pipeline maintenance or removal is required, simply close the valve, remove one flange, and the valve will still be securely locked to the upstream pipeline and maintain full-pressure sealing. This feature provides great process convenience for industrial networks such as petrochemicals and energy that require continuous production and partial maintenance.
Triple Offset Sealing Mechanism and Long-Term Performance: The core sealing logic of this valve is based on a triple offset geometry. Through the triple offset of the valve stem axis, the center of the butterfly plate, and the valve seat cone angle, “zero friction” is achieved between the butterfly plate and the valve seat throughout the entire opening and closing stroke. The butterfly plate only makes contact with the valve seat at the very last moment of closure. This “cam-type” self-tightening seal not only significantly reduces opening and closing torque but also fundamentally avoids physical damage to the sealing surface caused by frequent friction.
Materials Science and Extreme Condition Adaptability: The valve employs an all-metal hardface seal structure. The valve seat is typically overlaid with Stellite hard alloy, while the butterfly plate sealing ring is composed of alternating layers of stainless steel and flexible graphite. This multi-layered metal sealing design gives the valve excellent resistance to high temperatures, high pressures, and erosion, with an operating temperature range covering -196°C to 600°C. The all-metal construction also ensures the valve’s intrinsically safe fire-resistant properties, maintaining its critical shut-off function even in extreme environments such as fires.
Safety and Engineering Assurance:
- Anti-Blowout Stem Design: An internal mechanical limiter prevents the valve stem from flying out due to abnormal pressure surges within the cavity, ensuring the safety of maintenance personnel.
- Low-Efficiency Actuation: Thanks to the low torque characteristics of triple eccentricity, this valve can be matched with smaller pneumatic or electric actuators, significantly reducing the overall cost and energy consumption of automation systems.
- High-Protection Coating: The valve body surface is coated with heavy-duty corrosion-resistant fusion-bonded epoxy powder (FBE), effectively resisting salt spray and chemical atmospheric corrosion, extending equipment service life.
